Using L’Oreal for Rebonded Hair Care? Prosil is a Better Bargain
If you’ve recently had your hair rebonded, you may be on the lookout for homecare products that will help you maintain your newly-acquired silky, straight hair. In all likelihood, the salon girl who rebonded your hair has recommended a very expensive set of branded products. But we wanted to ask – is there a more affordable option that gives equally great results?
Hair rebonding is an intensive chemical process which changes the very structure of your hair, so the use of good homecare hair products is very important. We expected Tabassum, a sales assistant at the Andheri branch of Beauty Palace, a prominent retailer and wholesaler of beauty and skincare products in Mumbai, to mention the usual suspects – L’Oreal, Wella or Schwarzkopf. But Tabassum, who had her hair rebonded three years ago, was quick to recommend Prosil.
Prosil is a little-known Japanese brand but Tabassum swears by its shampoo, conditioner, serum and hair spa combination that has helped her maintain her tresses after the rebonding. Watch the video for instructions on how and when to use each of the products.
The entire Prosil range costs Rs. 1,125 at Beauty Palace. To offer a point of comparison, Tabassum next shows us the shampoo, conditioner, serum, hair spa and a set of six ampoules from the L’Oreal X-Tenso range.
The ampoules are one-time use only (to be used along with the hair spa) and make up a major chunk of the Rs. 2,285 price tag. The Prosil treatment excludes the use of ampoules, saving you both time and money by eliminating an extra step.
Tabassum recommends both brands for different budgets, but promises that the end result is the same.
