Lenovo K3 Note: A Smart Choice For Its Price Range Real Reviews November 6, 2015 Mobile Phones & Accessories views: 576 When it launched earlier this year (2015), the Lenovo K3 Note sold out in a matter of seconds at an online flash sale. And looking at the specifications, it’s no wonder why. The Lenovo K3 Note is the ideal feature-packed phone with a price affordable for any middle-class family. First-time smartphone user 43-year-old Swapna Nambiar tells us what she thought of the K3 Note. As a homemaker, a standard phone with its simple features of call, text and a 2MP camera was enough for me over the years. However, with the Lenovo K3 Note, I thought it was a good time to start using my first smartphone. Lenovo K3 Note Specifications: – 5.5 inch Full HD Display – Android Lollipop OS – 13MP (rear), 5MP (front) camera – 16 GB internal memory with 32 GB expandable memory Price: Rs.9,999 /- To begin with, the first thing that attracted me to this handset was its size. Many smartphones waste a lot of space around their screen display, but the Lenovo K3 Note makes use of almost the entire handset for its display, making it look larger than any other 5.5-inch smartphone. Design For somebody who’s used standard phones all her life, the Lenovo K3 Note took a little getting used to because it’s not a single-thumb-access phone, i.e. you can’t reach all the corners of the phone with a single thumb. Unless you have exceptionally long fingers, you will need to use both hands to work this phone. Also, the navigation button at the bottom of the screen is printed in faint grey and doesn’t have a backlight – but it’s something you get used to. Looks. Well, if you’re expecting a stylish design for your phone, the K3 Note is not for you. But I personally like the design – very simple, yet very elegant. There are other features that are useful. The K3 Note lets you uninstall preloaded apps, which is good because I didn’t like how all the app cluttered my home page. The Ultimate Power Saver disables every function other than calling and messaging when your battery is low. Camera The 13 MP rear camera works great in good lighting. However, in low lighting, the details of the image don’t come through at all. Also, since the camera lens is oddly located in a corner, my finger often ends up starring in the photos! On the other hand, the 5MP front camera is great for taking selfies if you are into that kind of thing. Again, poor lighting can be a hindrance. But the front camera has a feature where you can capture a moment by either saying ‘snap’ or ‘cheese’ (voice should be loud and clear). It captures moving objects very well. I personally use the Lenovo K3 Note, mainly to make video calls and stay in touch with family members. And for that, this smartphone works satisfactorily. The video calling sound is very clear and image quality is pretty good. As for the rest: – Battery life is a little above average – Sound quality is great – Lagging hasn’t been observed – Runs smooth while multitasking All in all, the Lenovo K3 Note is a smart choice for Rs. 9,999!
